Frequently asked questions

Antique OS is designed for independent antique dealers, galleries and multi-location businesses that need one place to catalogue objects, preserve provenance, publish stock and manage enquiries. Early access is focused on professional dealers rather than private collectors.

Yes. Early access dealers will receive help importing existing spreadsheets, product images and catalogue data. We’ll map your current fields, identify missing information and let you review records before anything is published.

Upload or take photographs of an object and Antique OS will suggest attributes such as object type, period, material and origin, then draft a catalogue description and estimated value range. You remain in control: every suggestion can be reviewed and edited before it becomes part of your inventory.

It is a permanent record that keeps an object’s description, provenance, condition reports, supporting documents, valuations and ownership history together. The passport is designed to grow with the object and make important records easier to find and share.

Yes. You can keep your current website, use the dealer storefront included with Antique OS, or run both side by side. The aim is to manage your catalogue once and keep every connected sales channel up to date.

No. The marketplace is optional and Antique OS remains dealer software first. You decide which objects appear on your own website, the Antique OS marketplace or connected third-party channels, and you can change that choice item by item.

Sales made through your own website will not carry an Antique OS marketplace commission. Subscription plans and any marketplace-specific fees will be shared transparently with founding dealers before launch, so you can review the full cost before committing.

You do. Your object records, photographs, provenance documents and customer relationships remain part of your business. Antique OS is being designed with practical export tools so your data is not trapped in the platform.

Yes. One account can support multiple locations, team members and storefronts. The planned workspace controls will help you organise stock by location and give colleagues appropriate access without maintaining separate systems.

Founding dealers will receive early product access, guided onboarding, import support and a direct route to the team shaping the platform. Your feedback will influence workflows and priorities, and full commercial terms will be provided before launch.
